Hey curvy friends! Can we address the biggest elephant in the room? How many of our favorite brands don’t have a size-sensitive section in their stores? Shopping for clothes should be a fun experience, but for many of us pot-bellied badasses, it can be an unpleasant one. Many stores boast about their size-sensitive lines online, but when you step inside, you find a meager section shoved to the back (if it even exists at all).
Imagine walking into your favorite store, excited to try on a new outfit, only to realize they don’t have your size. Or even worse, plus-size departments are disappointingly hidden corners with limited options. Limited styles, poor organization, and an overall feeling that these departments are an afterthought make for a less than enjoyable shopping experience.
It’s not just about the clothes. It’s about feeling seen and valued as a customer. When stores don’t prioritize inclusive sizing, it sends a message to plus-size shoppers that they don’t matter. Now that influencers are rightly criticizing brands and retailers that do or don’t carry plus-size sections, Samira, Trendy curves, and CurvilinearThese influencers have harshly criticised these brands and retailers with their own hashtag campaigns.
