Spoilers for Episode 5 of white lotus Season 2″that’s amore“
Incomplete second season of white lotus, a new bombshell enters the villa—or, rather, the original convent converted into a luxury hotel. He’s a strap-on man from Essex named Jack, possibly the nephew of Tom Hollander’s character Quentin. fledgling dynamic With Adam DiMarco’s Albie persuaded her to prowl Sicily with him. By the end of Episode 5, Portia’s love life is on the upswing. That’s when Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) catches him having sex with Quentin. The revelation caught Woodall himself off guard. “I was told I might get into fights with some characters, but I didn’t know who they were.”
Did you know that when you signed up for the role of Tom Hollander’s ‘nephew’, you were also going to have sex with him?
Well, it wasn’t right when I signed on, but it didn’t take long after that. I was already overjoyed when I heard that Tom Hollander was playing my uncle. Then the news dropped at that moment and I was silent for about 10 seconds to digest it.
Can you share any hints as to what’s really going on there?
not really. [Laughs.] Not at all!
How was shooting that scene?
Both Tom and I were a little nervous, but Mike White was very lighthearted about the whole thing. Especially that day. We had filmed other things before and he was like, “… are you ready?” Enjoyed it. Definitely a bonding moment.
How do you mentally prepare for such a scene?
The whole job was to mentally prepare me to take part in the greatest show in the world. The first day of shooting was actually that sexy scene with Hailey. That was my introduction to this job. Just rock’n’roll!
With a show that was such a hit in Season 1, did you feel any pressure going into Season 2?
It was a combination of ‘pinch me’ and ‘what to do with this’. I watched the first season without knowing there was an audition for Season 2 in my inbox. I fell in love with the show and only a few weeks later found out there were auditions for the next season. Had to entertain as long as possible.
Outside of the sex scenes, what was it like working with Tom Hollander? He is a gentleman and a true professional. I was very overwhelmed early on, so there was a moment where he really pushed me, on his second day of shooting, he metaphorically put his arms around me to support me. I was. I respect that very much.
You appeared in the middle of the season, but did you start filming in the second half?
Arrived a week or two later than a few others. However, she had to travel back and forth between London for her first month or so. We all became friends and started getting FOMO, so we decided not to leave. I was doing karaoke when I was in London, so that was the decisive factor.
What was it like staying at the hotel during filming?
i fell in love with the place.Seeing the show, looking down the hallway, and having so many memories of the room, dining area and bar is incredible. I arrived at midnight and was already like oh this is cooland when I woke up I thought, what happened to me? Then in the last week we were there it was up and running again and suddenly it was a different hotel. However, some of the hotel’s actual employees are on the show. They really looked after us.
Do you have a favorite thing to do when you’re not shooting?
What a lovely day me, Megan, Adam, Beatrice, Simona, Hailey and Aubrey went to the beach and swam towards this big rock.there were many night out. There was a fun day when Meghan and I went to the beach and came back, and Murray Abraham sat down and had a drink and we spent a few hours with him. Do you know what the Grand National is? It’s the annual horse race in the UK In the morning I had Meghan bet on a horse. I pulled out my phone and there was me and Meghan’s horse out front. My horse won and I went crazy. Murray was very happy with me until he realized I wasn’t betting the right amount. He was like, “Did you think you won 100 grand?” And I was like, ‘No, I just won the glory.
It is important that Jack and Portia have higher chemistry than Alvy and Portia. How did you work on it?
We went out for coffee the day before we shot that scene. We talked shit for hours and she asked me questions about my zodiac sign that I didn’t know much about.
So what is your zodiac sign?
I honestly can’t remember. I know I’m a Virgo, but she told me about my moon landing, moon rise, and more. To get it all you have to send a text message.
Are you from Essex?
I am from West London. But I do know a lot of people from Essex. My sister-in-law is from Essex so it was fun to lean on. Essex is the only wayMike, like Tom, has allowed me to be more British when it makes sense.
Why?
A little phrasing and a small tweak that Americans might not say. For example, in the UK use “fit”.
Other actors told me they felt like Mike brought an element of his own personality to the character.
one hundred percent. There’s something crazy about how great his scripts are and how casual and easy he is. He encouraged us to tinker.of Episode 4 When we were at the bar, I made up a line that said “Dos Jägermeister, dos Red Bull” because I thought it would be funny to hear him speak Spanish with an Italian bartender. But it looks like you got it!
Maybe that’s his way of saying “villa,” but Jack is a bit love island Contestants.
Oh I definitely thought Jack could slip in love islandHe could go from one villa to the next.
What was it like filming at the villa that Quentin supposedly owns?
it was huge. Some of the interiors were very strange. Crazy paintings and ancient antiques are everywhere. The bedroom was really dark.
An exciting place to shoot sex scenes!
There was a picture of a dog on the wall and Tom said, “Would you mind putting the dog in there while we do doggy style?”
