One East Bay restaurant received a surprise celebrity reservation this week. Oakland-born actress Zendaya visited her former school, Oakland Her Forge Her Arts, with her “Spider-Man” co-star and boyfriend Tom Holland for her upcoming vacation. seems to be in town for
NBC Bay Area first reported The celebrity sighting was followed by a flood of social media posts from excited fans.
SFGATE confirmed Zendaya and Holland had a meal afterward batch & brine at Lafayette. The restaurant owner declined to comment on what the star couple enjoyed during their reservation, but an employee told SFGATE that the couple actually dined at the property.
“Our vibrant menu offers ready-to-go burgers, sandwiches, shareable plates, salads and a great weekend brunch,” reads the Batch & Brine website.
Batch & Brine has a large family of owners including brothers Mike, Rolla and David Ghaben. Cousins Sam Gaven and Serena Gonzalez. and his son Victor Garben.
The restaurant’s menu boasts culinary roots from New Mexico, the Mediterranean, and California. Popular dishes include duck banh mi with fresh coriander and mint, garlic aioli, and pickled carrots and radishes, served on torpedo rolls. There’s also the blackened salmon po’ boy with lettuce, tomato and thinly shaved coleslaw.
