“I’ve been so touched by the amount of support and kind messages of encouragement over the past few months,” Kate wrote. “It has made a real difference to William and me and helped us both get through this difficult time.”
Prince Charles later said his son was “making good progress” but warned: “As anyone undergoing chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.”
“On your bad days, you’re weak and tired and you just want to rest,” Kate points out, “but on your good days, when you’re feeling strong and energized, you want to make the most of that.”
As for how long the chemotherapy will last, the royal said: “It’s ongoing and will likely continue for a few more months.”
“On the days when I feel well enough, I enjoy taking part in school life, spending personal time doing things that give me energy and positivity, and starting to do a little work from home,” she added.
Kate later revealed that she would be making a public return this weekend at Trooping the Colour, saying she was “looking forward to” attending the event with her family, and wrote that she “hopes to take part in some public events over the summer, but at the same time recognises that the crisis is not over yet”.
“I am learning to be patient, especially during times of uncertainty,” she concluded. “I am taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this time I need to heal. I am so grateful for all of you for your continued understanding and for having the courage to share your experiences with me.”
