Jackson first revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, but on Wednesday, August 14, the 65-year-old confirmed that her cancer had returned in her Instagram video series, “Cancer Back?”
“Cancer update: The marbles in my chest are stacked against my trachea and are threatening to suffocate me, so they can’t be surgically removed,” she said with a laugh at the start of the roughly eight-minute video.
“They’re giving me this magic pill,” Jackson added of the treatment, “It’s going to be delivered to my doorstep within 12 hours. It’s based on ribociclib, and hopefully it’ll shrink my marbles… I Googled the pill and it said people who take it have 32.6 months to live. And that’s how it went.”
But in an Instagram caption, Jackson hinted at a slightly longer timeline: “Cancer update: If I don’t get hit by a meteorite, get shot by a MAGA hater, get Covid again, or World War 3 breaks out, I have 34.8 months to live.” (Jackson has become a conservative and religious activist in recent years, sharing Bible verses and praising former presidents.)
