brand new cutting edge Orange County Museum of Art cut the ribbon on Friday ahead of its official grand opening this weekend.
Created over the years, the impressive $93 million structure covers 53,000 square feet and is located on the same campus as the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
There will be a 24-hour celebration on Saturday, October 8th at 5pm. The museum is open all day and offers music, food, movies, yoga, dancing and more.

The museum was established in 1962, starting with the Balboa Pavilion Gallery and has been iterated several times. It was later renamed the Newport Harbor Museum of Art before becoming OCMA.
For many, the addition of OCMA will make Orange County known as the new home of great contemporary art outside of Los Angeles.
OCMA kicks off with five first exhibitions.

OCMA CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman said: “That means we welcome you, not just today, but every day. Our mission here is to enrich the lives of people in a diverse and rapidly changing community. The museum’s collection includes Californian-inspired works by John Baldessari, Chris Burden, Villa Sermins, Bruce Conner, Richard Diebenkorn, Robert Irwin, Catherine Opie, Charles Ray, and Ed Ruscha. Contains over 4,500 works of art.
