The Dune sequel arrives a few weeks early, eating the release date of the recently vacated Marvel movie.
It was announced today that Marvel will be suspending Blade and dropping the vampire movie from its November 2023 release date as Marvel is looking for a new director. The sequel will release on November 3, 2023 instead of his November 17, 2023 date as originally announced.
This is a jump two weeks ahead of the sequel, and exciting news for fans who enjoyed Denis Villeneuve’s cerebral interpretation of the classic sci-fi novel.
Dune Part 2 has already started filming and will include new cast members such as Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Christopher Walken. The sequel will only premiere in theaters and won’t be released on HBO Max at the same time as Dune Part One.
According to the official synopsis, the sequel will follow “the mythical journey of Paul Atreides as he joins forces with Chani and Fremen to take revenge on the conspirators who destroyed his family.”
The film was originally scheduled to release in October 2023, but was pushed back to November 17th. As Dune Part 2 advances his two weeks, the sand shifts again.
