Ellen Pompeo has officially said goodbye to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’… The series leader has said goodbye following reports that she is leaving the long-running drama.
Ellen announced on social media Thursday that she was “forever grateful and humbled for the love and support” she has spent the past 19 seasons playing Meredith Gray on the ABC show.

In a goodbye post, Ellen naturally thanked her fans and said they were the ones who made her so fun and iconic on “Grey’s.”
As fans of the show already know, a teaser for the upcoming “Grey’s Anatomy” midseason premiere shows Ellen’s character saying goodbye to a fellow doctor as she leaves Seattle for Boston. There are also previous reports that Ellen has cut her role down to just eight episodes in the current season 19, and she has appeared in seven episodes so far.
Ellen has appeared in over 400 episodes during the series’ long run, and there have been recent rumors that she may be reunited with her former “Grey’s” co-star. Patrick Dempsey On the new show, Patrick shot down the report.
