Last of Us Episode 8 begins with a new batch of survivors who find they don’t have enough food to feed their people. Even if there is a ration, there is only one week left. The situation is getting more dire by the minute.
Meanwhile, Ellie checks on Joel’s puncture after stitching it up. Joel barely moves. Ellie leaves the house with a gun. She set her foot in the forest and found a deer. She shoots it once, but it escapes.She goes after it, but is played by two of the survivors of this new group, James Troy Bakerwho voiced Joel in the video game) and David first spotted a deer and decided to take it.
Ellie stops them in her truck. David explains that they are from a larger group who are starving, he says he will do her deal with her. She needs medicine for Joel, so she agrees. Ellie orders James to go get the medicine in exchange for half a deer.
Ellie crosses paths with a dangerous group
David and Ellie are left alone. He offers her her shelter and fire while they wait. Ellie discovers David is a preacher.he never believed in god rear Apocalypse. He left the crumbling Pittsburgh QZ and slowly welcomed new people as he traveled until he found a permanent settlement in Silverlake.
David doesn’t believe in luck. “He believes everything happens for a reason,” he tells Ellie. David says he sent four of his men out to a nearby town in search of food and only three returned. A girl. crazy man? Joel. girl? Ellie.
The table turns on Ellie. James points her gun at her, but David asks him to put her gun down. He orders James to give Ellie Joel’s medicine. Ellie bites her when David says he can protect her. She goes back to Joel and gives him the penicillin. She lies next to him and tries to warm her body.
David announces to his men that he will be sending a group to follow in Ellie’s footsteps tomorrow so they can find Joel and “bring that man to justice.” She says the daughter of the man Joel murdered should kill Joel and Ellie. David slaps her in front of everyone.
Ellie keeps Joel on more penicillin, and he’s feeling a little better. When she goes outside, she sees a crow flying in the distance. She soon sees a group, including David and James, walking in the snow. James has doubts about bringing Ellie back. He thinks it “may be God’s will” for her to die here. David does not approve of this line of thinking.
Ellie runs over to Joel and hands him the knife. She tells him she plans to keep the group away from him. She mounts her horse and shoots them. David shouts at her men and brings her back to life. James chases Ellie, shooting her horse and throwing it to the ground. David fires a shot before James kills her. He takes her back to her settlement. He orders his men to go find Joel. “If you’re hungry for revenge… deliver it,” he says.
Joel rises again
One of the men moves the furniture Ellie put in front of the basement door to protect Joel. When he descends into the basement, Joel is no longer on the mattress. Joel got up again and came back. Joel kills the man by stabbing him in the neck.
Ellie was thrown from her horse and woke up to find herself in a cage. She asks David why he is being kept like an animal. “Because I am afraid of you,” he says. He states that other people want to kill her and she cannot live alone.
Meanwhile, Joel has caught David’s two other men, wanting to know where Ellie is now. If the question is not answered, he stabs one man in the leg. The man finally tells Joel that Ellie is in Silverlake. Joel mercilessly stabbed him in the stomach after getting the answers he needed. He doesn’t hesitate to kill other men either.
“You have a violent heart”
Ellie soon discovers that David is much more evil than she imagined. She understands that they are cannibals and that not everyone in the settlement knows. I’m here. “You remind me,” David says to Ellie. “You are a natural leader, smart, loyal, and violent.”

She bites David as they fight off. They put her on a cutting board and prepare to kill her. Ellie says she’s infected (although she doesn’t say she’s immune). “And now you do,” she tells David.

Ellie manages to grab a butcher’s knife knocked out of her hand and she stabs him over and over, her blood splattered across her face.
After she kills David, she goes outside and Joel sneaks up on her from behind. “It’s okay, young lady. I got you,” Joel says, comforting Ellie.
