“It’s been 32 years, but one of the most important moments for me was founding the Misa Hilton Fashion Academy in 2012,” Hilton said in an interview with Fashion Bomb Daily.
“My focus is to infiltrate the fashion industry and give back through education and mentorship, while empowering our employees so they can elevate the industry by bringing more people of color into power,” she further said.
After receiving the Homage Award, Misa’s youngest son Nico Brim read a heartfelt poem to his mother, followed by a live performance that captivated the attendees with his rhythm and flow.
“As a friend, a supporter and a part of the culture, it’s great to celebrate the fashion industry’s hero and architect,” said rapper Rhapsody.
Misa Hilton has undoubtedly contributed to the fashion and hip hop community through her meticulous designs, and as a preeminent embodiment of what black excellence looks like she deserves every flower.
