A glorious and glorious luncheon honoring one of Hollywood’s most legendary and celebrated black entertainers. 16th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards held in Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
From winners like the legend Sheryl Lee Ralph and actress Danielle Deadweiler, to presenters like Quinta Branson and Yara Shahidi, Black Excellence came out in full force with a beautifully tailored ensemble that was highly fashionable.
The red carpet was full of flashy looks that stood out. We all know that wherever black women are the themed topic, they show up with guns blazing. Singer Khloe put on an incredible performance with her bubbly voice, wearing a white maxi her cutout dress with white gloves and a bodycon.
We also saw a full monochrome look from Quinta Brunson and Yandi Smith, and singer Teyana Taylor playing plaid. Carolina her Wanga set the mood for Solange with an orb-like halo crown, while Megan Goode and Mona her Scott Young looked forward to spring with her green hues of orange and mint.
Some celebrities embodied old Hollywood glamour, and traditional, like our CEO, Claire Salmers, who looked incredibly regal in a strapless black and white bicolor column gown by Sergio Hudson. I chose to keep it classic with a black and white ensemble. In addition to Salmers, stars such as Danielle Deadweiler, Bresha Webb, Kiki Layne, and Karrueche have opted for ceremonial colors that you can never go wrong with.
The celebratory afternoon will be ceremonial, in true essence fashion, celebrating Hollywood’s brightest black women who challenge the status quo, leave a progressive mark, and perform exceptionally well in their chosen fields, It was a moving admiration.
The Essence Black Women in Hollywood luncheon ultimately focused on influential black women who are changing the narrative of what success in Hollywood means and what it means to be highly sought after in Hollywood. Many of the guests and attendees were room changemakers, looking victorious, stunning, and incredibly modern. See what the red carpet looked like below.
