- “Titanic” star Kate Winslet says Leonardo DiCaprio’s character may have been the last survivor.
- “If we were both on that door, I really don’t believe we would have survived,” she said.
- She also addressed critics who felt she was “too fat” in the film, which was released 25 years ago.
This is one of the biggest questions in cinema history. Did Jack survive at the end of Titanic?
It’s been 25 years since viewers first witnessed the shocking death of Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in James Cameron’s epic, and co-star Kate Winslet is finally here if he were alive.
If you’re not familiar with the ending, let’s go back. The box office sensation ends with Jack (DiCaprio) and Rose (Winslet) surviving the sinking of the Titanic. But in the icy sea, Rose floats through a broken door. Jack is also unable to ride and remains in the water, hanging over the edge of the door and eventually freezing to death.

Since then, the question has always remained whether Jack could have survived.
“Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast host Josh Horowitz asked DiCaprio the question while the actor was doing press for “Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood,” I got nothing but “no comment” from the star.
Recently, Horowitz tried his luck with Winslet while promoting ‘Avatar: Path of Water’ and won gold after showing DiCaprio’s thwarted reaction.
“I don’t know. That’s the answer. She’s done everything from paddle boarding to scuba diving.
“When you put two adults on a stand-up paddleboard, it quickly becomes very unstable,” she explained. “In reality, it was the door. To be honest, I don’t really believe we could have survived if we were both on that door. Not a sustainable idea.” I would.”
“So you heard it for the first time here,” Winslet concludes. “Yes, he could have fit in that door, but he wouldn’t have stayed afloat.”
But Winslet wasn’t done. She then tracked down people who made defamatory comments about her weight over the years, hinting that that was the reason Jack wasn’t floating with her.
“Apparently, I was overweight,” she said, staring into the camera.
“Isn’t it terrible?” she said to Horowitz. “Why were they so mean to me? I wasn’t fucking fat.”
“If I could turn back the clock, I would have used my voice in a completely different way.” It’s hard, it’s bullying, it’s really borderline abuse.”
