Actor Lance Kerwin, best known for his roles in the TV miniseries “Salem’s Lot” and other notable series from the ’70s, has died, his talent agent John Boitano told CNN. he was 62 years old.
No information was provided on his cause of death.
Kerwin started her career by appearing in various TV shows such as ‘Little House on the Prairie’, ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Bionic Woman’. He also appeared in several ‘ABC After School Specials’. This is an anthology series aimed at children and teens that counts Jodie Foster among other alums.
A native of Southern California, he was a teenage actor throughout the ’70s, starring as Ramy Holbach in the TV series The Family Holvak, about a 1930s pastor struggling to provide for his family. He also appeared in the 1977 adult series ‘James at 15’. The show famously portrayed his teenage life in a way not often seen on television at the time.
Curwen starred in ‘Salem’s Lot’, the 1979 television adaptation of the Stephen King novel directed by Tobe Hooper. In the miniseries aired on CBS, he played the role of young Mark his Petrie, who protects the town from evil vampires. His work on the cult-favorite mini-series has led him to be regularly invited to his Horror conventions.
A role in 1995’s Outbreak was his last professional achievement until the 2022 film Wind and Clearing starring Jonathon Scheck.
