“We are wisdom like guiding lights, trees that have survived the storms of life. We have come so high and we have come so far that nothing can hold us back. you can’t.is a lyric from Mary J. Blige’s 2017 song “Strength of a Woman,” and the global superstar has since changed its name to a four-day festival.
That is correct! For the second year in a row, the Strengths of Women Festival and Summit will officially take place May 11-14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Attendees will have fun with an all-star line-up of celebrities including Lauryn Hill, Summer Walker, Busta Rhymes, Sassy Santana and Muni Long.
Originally conceived and founded by Mary J. Blige herself, the event has a team led by black women, including her partners Nicole Jackson and Ashona Ayers. Since its inauguration last May, the festival and summit have become a source of empowerment and inspiration for women and women entrepreneurs through group panel discussions, musical performances and workshops.
Our CEO, Claire Salmers, was on hand to kick off the festival with the opportunity to partner and mingle with 9th Annual Grammy Award Winner and Queen Mary J. Blige.
Claire and Mary both look absolutely stunning, with Blige opting for a complete chocolate brown Mugler ensemble that includes a sheer bodysuit and form-fitting flared pants with a cutout at the waist. You know there’s always a sex appeal to anything that has to do with Mugler, and that’s definitely what the diva was inflicting. Blige accessorized with a nude Himalayan Hermès Birkin bag and van her Cleef & Arpels jewelry.
Mary J. Blige said:
“We are so excited to bring our Strengths of a Woman Festival and Summit back to Atlanta for its second year.”. Having the opportunity to uplift, inspire and continue to build a community of women is why we created this festival. We are so grateful for the support of our performers, attendees, and of course Live Nation Urban, Pepsi, and our other partners committed to celebrating and creating a community of Black women. ”
Evoking a similar vibe to Mary J. Blige’s outfit, Claire includes a black satin corset and flared trousers with zippers that open toward the waist and hem of the pant, by designer Manière de Voir. , also appeared in a bombastic and timeless look. Sulmers accessorized minimally with black pointy-toed stilettos and diamond studs to match her perfect beat.
We love how the “Strength of a Woman” festival and summit have quickly become a sanctuary and a safe haven for Black creators and entrepreneurs, and we are thrilled to announce that we will be live-streaming from the event this Mother’s Day weekend. I look forward to reporting on it.
