Simone Biles Fans are convinced this is a criticism of her latest Instagram post Mikayla SkinnerComments on the current Olympic team.
Sharing his own photos, Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey and Hesley Rivera“No talent, no laziness, Olympic champion,” Simone, 27, jokingly captioned the post on Tuesday, July 30. In response, McKayla, 28, wrote, “It doesn’t get more iconic than this. She playfully [sic].”
After referencing Team USA’s supposed nickname, “Foolishly Check It Out,” the retired gymnast added, “I’m not a fan of that.”“I feel like I need to apologize to defend my name,” she said.
Last month, a video was released in which 27-year-old Mikayla praised the “talent” and “hard work” of the current Olympic team.

“Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and depth of the team is not what it used to be,” the athlete said. “Obviously, you realize a lot of the girls aren’t training as hard as they used to. The work ethic isn’t there for the girls.”
Mikayla, who was an alternate for the 2016 Rio Olympics team, said her comments were not “necessarily about the current team,” but added that she was “very proud of the team.” She also pointed out that her comments were about “getting back on the team.” [her] I run my own gym, and my attitude towards work is, [previous team coach] Malta [Károlyi] era.”
