Every heavyweight in cinema has the right and responsibility to chant Prabhakar Reddy’s name wherever he is and honor his family for providing such vast tracts of land for the construction of the Chitrapuri colony.
Prabhakar Reddy, a popular actor of yesteryear, donated the land so that poor film workers could own homes near the city’s most popular spots.
Four days ago, the Chitrapuri Colony Flats launch event was held with Chiranjeevi as chief guest.
He took the name of Prabhakar Reddy but didn’t mind his wife and family being invited to the event.
Prabhakar Reddy’s daughter, Sailaja Reddy, expressed her disappointment at not inviting at least her mother to the event.
She said, “It’s not compulsory. It’s a matter of human nature. My mother would have been really happy to have been invited.”
Incidents like this do not motivate others in society to give anything for charity. Everyone is forgotten after death, even family members are neglected.
So what’s the point of donating something to a cause that others take little credit for?
