Salt-N-Pepa’s DJ Spinderella had an awkward reunion with his estranged bandmate on Friday.
Spinderella, 51 – real name Deidra Muriel Roper, announced alongside Salt (Cheryl James, 56) and Pepa (Sandra Denton, 55) Participated.
Push It hitmaker Spinderella cut a glamorous figure in a busty black dress with a cape before an emotional acceptance speech imploring her bandmates to “mend their relationship.”

She said: “Thank you Salt and Pep for mentoring me. We’ve been through our ups and downs and life lessons.
It’s not just the music, it’s our relationship and it means everything to me, so whatever we have to do to fix it, let’s bring unity back to this! , be iconic and be what your fans want.
The trio were also seen hugging after giving their speeches, with Salt saying:

Pepa was seen enthusiastically trying to hug Spinderella in celebration of their achievement, only to be met with lukewarm displays from the stars.
Salt dazzled in a shimmering metallic silver gown and blue heels, while Pepa showed off her big boobs in a denim blazer and boots.
Lauper has been with the band since its early success after being introduced to James and Denton, 54, by producer Harvey Azor after original DJ LaToya Hanson missed a few rehearsals and group appearances in 1986. (TV host Wendy Williams also auditioned as a DJ.)

In 2019, DJ claimed he was fired from the band after they were set to join The New Kids on the Bullock on tour.
“Despite participating in tour promotion and being heavily promoted as one of the acts, in January 2019 I received a ‘terminated’ email from #SaltnPepa excluding me from performing with the group.
In February 2021, Spinderella told Billboard, “The relationship is over. The only way things like that happen is to handle this business and they apologize to me.
In 2021, Spinderella also spoke about her embarrassing omission from Lifetime’s upcoming Salt-N-Pepa biopic, claiming she was “excluded.”
Her bandmates promoted a three-hour special set to air this Saturday, explaining how the two played a key role in telling the hip-hop group’s pioneering story. (and the film has executive producer credits).
But after years of feuding between the three rappers, Lauper first formed in 1985 and released their iconic hip-hop single, ‘Push It’, in 1987. She was not invited to voice her opinion on the later dramatization of the band’s success.
