With her record-breaking athleticism and unique sense of style, could Sha’Carey Richardson become the next Flo-Jo? Possibly, and her fashion-forward themed nails are on full display at the 2024 Olympics.
The Dallas sprinter, known for making a statement with her manicures, showed off her patriotism with some bold coffin and stiletto nails done by New York-based nail artist Jacqueline Pham.
Featured in Vogue, New York Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and more, Pham was specially commissioned by Richardson to create a range of press-on nail sets.
For the first set Jacqueline created for the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony, she used the colors of the American flag – red, white and blue – to represent American pride. “We accentuated the set with American flags, embellished French tips and jewels,” Pham explained.
In addition to coordinating with Team USA, the nail guru also matched Richardson’s personal style, sporting bright neon colors and colorful stiletto heels in the 100m semifinals. Her glittering nails were embellished with hand-picked beads and gemstones to mirror the mosaic design.
Jacqueline Pham’s passion for nail polish is very much on display through her whimsical and stunning designs. In contrast to the second set she created for Richardson, the third set was more subdued with shades of purple and lavender.
Richardson’s third set of nails, which she held in prayer before winning the silver medal in the 100-meter final, matched perfectly with the colors of the U.S. track and field uniform.
The final set of nails that Pham custom ordered for Richardson were gold, with a tiger-tip design with gold studs outlined at the base of her bare foot, in the hopes that she would bring home the gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay.
The gold medalist wore his fourth set during the men’s basketball Olympic final between France and the United States, sitting next to Jimmy Fallon and Carmelo Anthony.
Jacqueline Pham proved herself a skilled manicurist and a force to be reckoned with, as her bejeweled nail designs for Shakari Richardson were architectural, iconic and unlike anything seen before.
What do you think? Hot! Or hmm…?
