Life is pretty good right now for Taylor Swift, but what about walking around like her?
Ashley Leechin can answer that question.
The 29-year-old, married mother of two looks a lot like the 33-year-old Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. The video went viral a while back A man on the streets of New York City seems to have an emotional reaction to mistaking Leechin for Swift.
Leechin recently told CNN what really happened during the encounter.
She was in New York City to meet a big Swift (known as a Swift fan). When she and a group of friends hopped on the subway, Swift read a tweet that said she was going to a Target store in the city. After that..
When they got there, Lichin said there were hundreds of people lined up and whispers immediately began to wonder if she was a star.
When she went to tell a store employee that she wasn’t actually Taylor Swift, she was approached by a young man who appeared to be crying.
“It was like shaking and crying, and it caught me off guard,” Lichin recalls. “He was almost like, ‘Oh my god, Taylor, I love you so much. I love you.’ There was no.
Considering how Leechin nailed Swift’s looks, voice, and persona, he could have been forgiven if it was a legitimate case of wrong identity.
So much, she’s got a pretty healthy following Her popular TikTok account.
Liechin said it was in middle school when people first started noticing her resemblance to Swift, who was an up-and-coming singer at the time.
“We had the same haircut and looked very similar. I started listening to Taylor in 2006 when she came out. [her single] “Tim McGraw,” said Rechin. “So it was kind of a joke for her to get into high school. That in itself wasn’t weird to me. She had a lot of fun, just because she loved her.”
She said she downloaded TikTok in quarantine during the pandemic in 2020 and things went really well from there.
Life as a look-alike isn’t always the perfect love story.
Leechin has been somewhat disliked by people online who have told her to “stop emulating people you’ve never met.”
She claims that she has only positive intentions because she respects Swift so much.
“I love her music, so of course I’m going to emulate her,” said Leechin.
By the way, Liechin never met Swift in person, but in September Swift jumped at the following comment Leechin’s TikTok reacted to a video announcing the titles of songs from Swift’s album ‘Midnights’.
“My mom saw this and said, ‘She looks like you,'” Swift wrote.
My cue reachin’ gone crazy.
Even her children, an 8-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, are depressed about their mother being Swift’s doppelgänger.
“They love it,” she said. “I’ve come a long way on social media, but they watched my videos. Are you the one wearing the gown?”
Leechin could probably get Mint to act as a Swift look-alike, but for now she’s just having fun.
“I’ve had a lot of chances, but recently turned them down,” she said. “I have my own agents. But I’m not pursuing any gigs at the moment, simply because they’ve come to nail wearing blue contacts as being very condescending. Me.” refused it.”
One of the things she’s committed to is attending Swift’s upcoming “Eras Tour.” Leechin was one of the lucky ones to get a ticket.
At first glance, it seems correct.
