Casting the role of Ariel in The Little Mermaid gave a round of applause to the stunning Halle Bailey for landing the role without changing her hair. Excited to be a part of history, Halle knew her debut role would send a concrete message to young black women about the importance of being authentic. He insisted on maintaining a natural figure.
in a recent interview ebony, She revealed how important it is for her to keep her hair in its natural state. To embody her character and her role, Halle dyed her hair a signature red color that symbolizes the original Ariel’s hair color.

Partnering with Academy Award-nominated hairstylist Camille Friend, they both decided to keep their movie nostalgia alive.
In an interview, Halle further elaborated on the importance of keeping Ariel’s hair red. The singer said, “The Little Mermaid’s red hair is her signature, and while she respects that, she wanted to stay true to herself by maintaining her rocking hairstyle.” It is,” he explained.
