Despite having a close relationship on the set of the 1980s classic Who’s the Boss?, Danny Pintauro revealed he had one castmate who struggled: Alyssa Milano.
Pintauro, who played Jonathan Bauer on the popular sitcom that ran from 1984 to 1992, recalled his time on the show, admitting he had “ambiguous moments” with Milano, who played Samantha Micelli.
“It couldn’t have been a better experience. We really came together as a family,” the 46-year-old said on David Yontef’s podcast.behind the velvet rope”
However, he narrowed his differences with Milan down to sibling dynamics.
“I made Christmas presents. I got the ‘Merry Christmas, Mom’ song by Judith Wright and the song by Grandma Katherine Helmond,” he recalls. “I loved being there, but Alyssa and I had moments of uncertainty, really because she was a teenager and I was her brother.
“She said, ‘Get out of here! And slammed the door in my face,'” he continued. “There was no malice, just a sister/brother thing.”
Pintauro admitted that he kept in touch with Milano, the shortest of all the cast, at 50, for about a decade after the show ended. However, their relationship changed when he was found to be HIV positive.
“She was completely off guard” “The View” after the news came out.
“I received a text from her shortly after that episode and our relationship developed further,” he told Yontefu.
Pintauro recently returned to acting after a 30-year hiatus, starring in the Lifetime Christmas movie Country Christmas Harmony.
