Naomi committed suicide At home in Tennessee on April 30th. She was 76 years old.
Wynonna, 58, recalled her mother’s demeanor on stage that night.
“She was so fragile,” she said on the podcast “Making Space with Hoda Kotb.”

“I think it’s because she hasn’t sung in a long time. I think when her parents get older, their world gets smaller. And she was late.” [that night], and she is never late. I think she was nervous. But her first instinct wasn’t to comfort her mother. She was too focused on Naomi’s huge dark red wig.
“My first thought in my head was, ‘No, I don’t want to hug her or comfort her. I want to take off her wig,'” she recalled. “Because that was the dynamic of our relationship. It was tough and tender.”
naomi has been fighting for a long time mental health issues, and shared some of her struggles in her memoir, River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged With Hope. Her family has also revealed that she is battling her PTSD and bipolar disorder.
Both of Judd’s women were “alpha and determined” with each other, and their kindness was not something that was easily shared.

She added, “It was the last time we played together, so I’m glad we did. I’m glad we didn’t cling to perfectionism.”
