BTS’s oldest bandmate, Jin, is set to enlist in the military on December 13th.
According to local media reports, the band’s vocalist will join the predecessor’s training unit next month and undergo five weeks of basic training in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. Jin is then placed in an army unit.
After the news spread, Jin took to Weverse, an online platform for fans, to share his thoughts on joining the military.

All healthy Korean men between the ages of 18 and 28 are required to serve in the military for approximately 18 to 21 months.
“The article happened without my will, but please don’t come to the military training center. There are many people besides me, so it’s dangerous if it’s too crowded. I love you, ARMY,” Jin addressed fans. In the letter, the group refers to it as ‘Army’.
In October, the band’s agency, Big Hit Music, announced that the seven bandmates Jin, RM, Suga, Jimin, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook would enlist in the military, starting with the oldest Jin.

Earlier this month, Mr. Jin applied to the Military Manpower Administration to revoke his request to postpone his mandatory military service.
Jin, whose real name is Kim Seokjin, has postponed his military conscription until the end of this year due to the 2020 revision of the Military Service Law.
In December 2020, South Korea’s parliament recognized seven global successes with an amendment to the country’s military service law that would allow major K-pop celebrities to defer draft until they are 30 instead of 28. . 2 more years.

Meanwhile, Jin released his first solo music project “The Astronaut” on October 28. The solo single officially became a solo million-seller and topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 97 regions, including the United States, Canada and France.
