this year, Ciara is hosting Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve First time from Disneyland. In light of the hosting gig, the Grammy winner opened up to PEOPLE about all things New Year’s Eve, including how he plans to “level up” in 2023.
“I’m so excited. Disneyland is actually one of my favorite places on the planet. So when I heard they were going to do this party, I was overjoyed,” said the 37-year-old, “My Goodies,” says the singer. “The girl inside me definitely came out.”
She added, “I’m also excited to welcome the New Year into the world of Disneyland.”
The pre-recorded special will also see Ciara, in her sixth year as host, take the stage for a special performance.
“It was amazing to see my fans’ love for my latest song with Summer Walker called ‘Better Suns,’ so they will definitely get a taste of it,” she teases. And of course, having my song ‘JUMP’ out before that, it’s a lot of uninterrupted energy in your face, so you get a little taste of that as well.”
“Also, we’re going to give our fans something new. They’re going to get something special for New Year’s Eve and we can’t wait. Let’s just say it’s going to win the energy.” she says enthusiastically.
As for what she’ll wear — Ciara can’t tease much about it just yet, but she “definitely” says there’s “some glitter going on.”
“You can’t welcome the New Year without glitter!” she jokes.
And since the show is pre-taped, Ciara will be watching the special on New Year’s Eve with her family of five: daughter Princess Sienna, 5-year-old, and son. Wynn Harrison2, she shares with her husband Russell Wilsonand the singer’s eight-year-old son Future Zahir, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Future.
“The really cool thing about this year is that I have to be away from my family every year to do the show. At that moment my baby won’t be in the mix. But the really cool thing is that I can be my part of the show.” and watching the entire show with my family for the first time.”

In light of the holidays, Ciara also opened up about her goals for the coming year.
“My mission each year is to keep leveling up. Thinking out loud about what I hope for in the new year and what I want to perfect is definitely a way to keep working on balance. Balance is one of my biggest challenges. One, especially ambitious, entertainer, entrepreneur and mother,” she says.
“All of these buckets are really important to me, especially to my family life, so I just want to make sure the cup is filled properly as I continue to grow and build my business,” the singer said. add. “I want to feel like my life cup is full. That’s going to be my biggest focus. Balancing the human part of me amidst all the success and greatness.” .
