DH Peligro, longtime drummer for punk bands Dead Kennedys and Red Hot Chili Peppers, has died. he was 63 years old.
dead kennedy formula Instagram account Peligro, whose real name is Darren Henry, died Friday after falling and hitting his head at his home in Los Angeles, it was announced Saturday.
“Police at the scene said he died of head injuries from an accidental fall. Arrangements are pending and will be announced in the coming days,” the post said. “We ask that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughts and words of comfort.”
Kevin Rowley, the band’s manager, confirmed Peligro’s death to USA TODAY on Sunday.

Red Hot Chili Peppers founder and bassist Flea (aka Michael Peter Balzary) Instagram to his “beloved friend” who played a brief but “significant part” of the band’s history.
“My brother, I miss you. Today I am devastated like a river of tears, but I cherish every moment of my life,” wrote Flea, referring to the drummer’s 1981 I remember the first time I saw him perform with Dead Kennedy in 2004. You blew my mind. Power, soul, recklessness. You became my dearest friend. We had so much fun, so much joy, we had each other’s backs. I love you. You are a true rocker..”
“Wild man, joy bringer, big hearted man. I will always admire you,” Flea added.

William DuVall of Alice in Chains describes Peligro as “Drum Hero and Super Cool Guy” On Twitter, recalling a 1983 concert, “After shredding drums throughout the set, he ended the show by dove his kit into the crowd at once.”

Peligro joined the Dead Kennedys in February 1981, replacing the band’s original drummer, Bruce “Ted” Slesinger. After the Dead Kennedys disbanded in 1986, Peligro briefly joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988.
