It’s been a while since we made a plus-size documentary centered around fashion in the plus-size industry, and the people who make it happen, from the community, by the community. Her Laquinta Davis, aka DivaBigg, is about to change that in her Fat IS Fashion documentary.
For those of you who don’t know, DivaBigg is a body positive company. DivaBigg operates around his three divisions: apparel, modeling and show production. through their slogan “My fat is my beauty”, They work every day to push that mindset to the women they lead and the people they serve.
LaQuinta Davis has sought influencers from near and far across the plus-size fashion industry to participate in this event and this documentary. Each cast-her member shares stories in terms of their role in the industry.
The cast of Fat Is Fashion are big names in the plus-size fashion scene. In this documentary, we hear from 18 plus-size industry experts, including FFFWeek creator Gwen DeVoe, fashion designer Jasmine Elder of Jibri, and even her EIC’s Marie Denee!
To kick off this plus-size documentary celebration, we have three screenings scheduled for next February, and you’re invited!

The focus of the screening is to demonstrate the role of the plus-size community in mainstream fashion and media.An opportunity to experience and understand the harsh realities of the fashion industry. This room full of influential people provides a platform for starting conversations to support each other within the Plus community.
The focus is on education, networking, and communication. Fat is Fashion aims to evoke a positive image, boost self-esteem, create a successful lifestyle and promote inner beauty.

For each of these screenings of Fat is Fashion, the event benefits ADAA– Anxiety and Depression Association of AmericaADAA is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD and comorbid disorders through a combination of science, therapy and education.
