Portland, Oregon (coin) — Earlier this week, someone broke into well-known local artist Mike Bennett’s new art studio in northeastern Portland. announced on facebook.
In a social media post, Bennett said some of the stolen items were irreplaceable mementos.
“Well, let’s talk about emotional whiplash this week,” Bennett said. “I just got this amazing dreamy new studio space that I am totally in love with. It really is a studio I never thought I would have. The first thing I set up was my office, and less than 12 hours after I set it up, someone broke in and stole a ton of irreplaceable sentimentality.”
When contacted, Bennett declined to provide details about the alleged robbery, but is awaiting contact from the Portland Police Department after attempting to file a robbery report on Monday, Jan. 23. told KOIN 6 News.
“They haven’t called me yet,” Bennett said.
KOIN 6 News has requested more information from the Portland Police Department about the crime report. Kevin Allen said PPB employees are currently busy and it will take an unspecified amount of time for PPB to provide a formal response.

“Sure, we lost all our audio gear, a lot of our cables, our sweatshirts, but what hurt the most was the emotional one,” he wrote. I know it’s silly to be obsessed with figurines, fan-made snail art, Pixar Pixar hoodies, and lots of handcrafted stuff, but it meant something to me. I’m going through a new kind of grief, but I’ll get through it.”
