Niecy Nash When her daughter, Dia, asked her mother how she was identified before marriage, she wasn’t exactly sure how to answer. Jessica Betts.
In an exclusive clip from Tuesday’s episode of tamron hall showThe 52-year-old comedian recalled the moment her youngest daughter, 22, asked her mother how she identified her, and admitted she was “confused” about how to answer.
“Your youngest Dia really wanted things labeled,” host Tamron Hall tells Nash. “We talk a lot about LGBTQ+, binary and non-binary. What is Niecy Nash? Is she bisexual?
“How did you talk to the kids you were trying to understand?” Hall asks.
“My daughter was like, ‘How do you identify?’ I said, ‘Huh? ‘” Nash recalled, pointing out that her daughter asked again.
The actress said she identified with her daughter as “black and your mama” because the audience burst into laughter.

“When [Dia] I was like, ‘No, mom, you need to know. She would show me a show about every label and name, and after it was over, her head was spinning,” admits Nash.
After watching the show, Nash says he asked the same question about how his daughter identified.
“And I was like, ‘Girl, I’m more confused now than I was before. I don’t know. If I had to make it up now, I’d say I’m Jessexual.'” She said, pointing to the wife next to her. “I’ve never seen anyone, male or female. I’ve never seen them the way I see her. So I don’t know. But now I know I’m happy.” I said, “Write it down.” “

“[My marriage] It has absolutely nothing to do with gender, it’s all about her soul,” Nash explained at the time. “She’s the most beautiful soul I’ve ever met.
“I haven’t repressed my sexuality my whole life,” she added of her decision to marry Betts. Married twice, I love those people, and today I love this person.”
