Queen guitarist Brian May He was knighted for his contributions to music and philanthropy.
At age 75, May was one of over 1,000 people to make the first honors list since King Charles III took the throne. The year-end list also includes fashion designer Mary Quant and Ghanaian-born British artist John Akomfra.

May was awarded the title of Night Bachelor for her “contributions to music and philanthropy.” The notice stated that he was a “musician, songwriter and animal welfare advocate.”
