Matthew McConaughey wants you to take a moment to meditate on your hopes and dreams.
On Tuesday, the Oscar-winning 52-year-old actor opened up to his followers in a video about the virtues of journaling, imploring men to be more introspective about their feelings through the power of writing.
“You see, I’ve had a lot of male friends and they’ve been like, ‘No, I don’t want to write a journal. Men don’t keep diaries. Yeah, I’ll tell you why,’ he started the video message. “Anyone of you out there [who] Working every day to be a better man, having places we want to go, the things we want to achieve in life — being a better father, being a better friend, being better in our careers — Please write it down.
McConaughey argues that once you start writing down your aspirations for life, you “become objectively aware of what you’re trying to achieve.” [and] what we are looking for. “
